Storyline:
Story: Natasha (Hina Khan), the heir to a construction company, leads a contented life free of corporate intrigue. Soon after, a shocking murder takes place in her home, completely upending her life.
Review: Ganesh Yadav’s ‘Shadyantra’ is set like a staged play that is available on the OTT platform. The fact that the scene is shot entirely in one room and that the characters are introduced to the audience at equal intervals demonstrates the same.
The narrative of this murder mystery is something that has been extensively explored in numerous Hindi films in the past, making it a predictable fare. However, the execution of this film is lacking, as everything appears to be unrealistic from the start. Some of the plots and characters are initially difficult to follow because their backstories are not well developed.
For instance, if Natasha’s husband, Rohan, has everything, why is he behaving so oddly? What exactly is Natasha’s story? She stays miles away from the inherited construction company, but is she a housewife? The film would have been more interesting if these parts had been well-written and executed better.
